In the 1970’s, as a form of “protest” LGBT people wrote “gay” and “lesbian” on all of the paper currency they spent in order to demonstrate how much they contribute to the economy.
I think this is sort of lovely and sort of empowering but still makes me a little uncomfortable. Thoughts?
